The GP2 series concluded the year with a non-chapmionship race weekend in Abu Dhabi. Marcus Ericsson, driving for iSport finished in second place in Sundays sprint race.
The Sunday sprint race format in GP2 have a top 8 reverse grid system. Marcus started in 5th position after finishing in 4th position in the Saturday GP2 feature race.
Ericsson made a good start and climbed to 3rd immediately, then overtook newcomer Felix Da Costa for second place halfway through the race.
Rookie and GP3 runner-up James Calado, ART, started from pole position and led away from the green light. After advancing to second place Marcus closed the gap to the leader but did not find a chance to overtake and had to settle for second place.
Marcus also finished in second place overall for the weekend, behind Saturdays feature race winner Fabio Leimer, Racing Engineering.
